ShortPoint AI Designer can help you refine the intranet page design it produced through continuous, back-and-forth conversation. You do not need to start over every time you want to make a change.
What Are the Prerequisites?
Before using ShortPoint AI Designer and its features, make sure the following are in place:
- You must have the latest version of ShortPoint SPFx installed.
- You must be a ShortPoint Designer with a Pro or Enterprise License.
- You must have ShortPoint AI Designer enabled in the ShortPoint Admin page and have AI credits available. For more information, go to How to Enable/Disable the ShortPoint AI Designer.
What is Multi-Turn Conversation?
Multi-Turn Conversation is the capability that lets you refine and adjust your intranet page through an ongoing dialogue with AI Designer. Instead of generating a page and being locked into the result, you can keep the conversation going. You can ask AI Designer to tweak layouts, swap components, adjust content, or change styling all within the same session.
Think of it as having a live design conversation where every follow-up message brings your page closer to exactly what you had in mind.

How does Multi-Turn Conversation work?
When ShortPoint AI Designer generates your first page, the conversation doesn't end there. You can send follow-up messages describing what you'd like to change, and AI Designer will apply those adjustments to the existing page. Each message builds on the previous one, so AI Designer always has the full context of your conversation when making refinements.
Each new page you start begins with a fresh conversation, giving you a clean slate without any carry-over from previous sessions.
What Can You Do in a Conversation?
Multi-Turn Conversation gives you the flexibility to refine your page in any direction across unlimited turns. Some common follow-up actions include:
- Adjusting layouts — ask the AI Designer to reorganize sections or change the page structure.
- Swapping components — replace a news card with a quick links section, or add an events list to an existing layout.
- Refining content — update placeholder text, headings, or descriptions directly through the conversation.
- Changing styling — request color adjustments, spacing changes, or design tweaks to specific elements.
- Adding or removing sections — expand the page with new sections or simplify it by removing ones you don't need.
There is no limit to the number of turns in a conversation, so you can keep refining until the page is exactly right.
Can I go back to a previous version?
If a change doesn't go the way you expected, you don't have to undo everything manually. AI Designer's Version History lets you revisit and restore any previous version of your page from an earlier point in the conversation. This gives you the freedom to experiment with changes without the risk of losing work you were happy with.
