ShortPoint SPFx Installation for Microsoft 365 (First Time)

There are two ways to install ShortPoint SPFx on your SharePoint site. You can use ShortPoint automated installation (recommended) or install ShortPoint SPFx manually. Follow the installation method you prefer below.

Required Permissions

• You need to be a Global Microsoft 365 Admin.
• You need to be the Site Collection Administrator for the Site Collection you are installing ShortPoint on. 

ShortPoint Automated Installation (Recommended)

You can easily access the automated installation from shortpoint.com by clicking the Download or Start Trial button. This is accessible to all customers, whether you are a new or an existing one.

Click Get Started to start the interactive tutorial:

NOTE 
After completing the trial form, you will be asked to log in to your Office 365 account. This does not install ShortPoint to your tenant yet, but is needed to check if you have the necessary permissions to install apps on your tenant.

If you don't have the necessary permissions to install ShortPoint on your environment, you will be redirected to a page where you can request help from your SharePoint admins. At the same time, you will be able to try ShortPoint and its features using an interactive experience.

Manual ShortPoint SPFx Installation

I. Prerequisites

• Manual Installation Prerequisite 1: Go to the Download Page
• Manual Installation Prerequisite 2: Download and Extract ShortPoint Installation File

NOTE: Because of Microsoft's Scripting Capabilities deprecation, ShortPoint will not work on Classic Pages anymore starting November 2024. Read more about this change in ShortPoint Microsoft 365 Classic Pages Deprecation: Transforming Classic Pages to Modern Pages.

II. Manual Installation Steps

• Manual Installation Step 1: Upload ShortPoint to Tenant App Catalog in Microsoft 365 (Video tutorial) (Duration: 2 minutes)
• Manual Installation Step 2: Add ShortPoint SPFx to SharePoint Site in Microsoft 365 (Video tutorial) (Duration: 1 - 5 minutes)
• Manual Installation Step 3: Run ShortPoint Installation from Dashboard in Microsoft 365 (Video tutorial) (Duration: 1 minute)

III. License Activation

• Post Installation: Activate ShortPoint SPFx License (Video tutorial)
