How to Install ShortPoint SPFx Using ShortPoint Automated Installation (Recommended)

This article will detail what ShortPoint Automated Installation is and demonstrate how to use it to install ShortPoint on your SharePoint sites. This is the recommended installation method for ShortPoint SPFx.

NOTEIf you are new to ShortPoint and have not yet submitted the trial form, we recommend starting with Part 1 of the interactive tutorial. Otherwise, you can go directly to install.shortpoint.com and proceed with Part 2 of the interactive tutorial.

NOTEAfter completing the trial form, you'll need to log in to your Office 365 account. This login doesn't install ShortPoint yet—it simply verifies whether you have the necessary permissions to install apps on your tenant. If you lack these permissions, you'll be directed to a page where you can request assistance from your SharePoint admins. Meanwhile, you can explore ShortPoint's features through an interactive demo.

Step-by-step Tutorial

The steps have been divided into two parts. Follow them closely to get started:

Part 1: Submit the Trial Form

Part 1 will show you how to access and submit the ShortPoint trial form.

NOTEIf you have already submitted the trial form, you can directly go to install.shortpoint.com and follow the steps in Part 2 of this tutorial.

Step 1: Open the Trial Form

• Go to shortpoint.com and select Install:

Step 2: Select Microsoft 365

• Scroll down and choose Microsoft 365:

• Click Install ShortPoint SPFx for Microsoft 365.

Step 3: Fill in the form

• Write your business email and click Next.
• Fill in the necessary details and click Next.

Step 4: Schedule Complimentary Training

• If you wish, you can schedule a complimentary training with our experts. Select the date and time you prefer and click Next.
• Add in other details for the training and click Schedule Event.
• You will see the details for the complimentary training. Click Get Started.

You are now ready to proceed to Part 2.

Part 2: Install ShortPoint

Part 2 will show you how to install ShortPoint using ShortPoint Automated Installation.

Step 1: Log in to Microsoft 365

• Once you’re in install.shortpoint.com, select Login with Microsoft 365.
• You will be redirected to the login page. Log in to your account.

NOTEAfter completing the trial form, you'll need to log in to your Office 365 account. Step 2: Add ShortPoint to a SharePoint site

• Accept the terms and conditions.
• You can either [1] add ShortPoint to a new site or [2] add it to any of your existing sites. Select the option that fits your needs.

• Wait for the installation to be completed, then select Continue.
• Select Complete Installation.

Step 3: Start Designing

• You will be redirected to your SharePoint page. Click Start Designing.

Congratulations! You have successfully installed ShortPoint SPFx on your SharePoint site.
