Regional Settings refers to how language and time are displayed on SharePoint and other apps.

There are two types of regional settings that you can change:

  • Site collection regional settings: use it to set the site collection time zone, locale, and time format.
  • User Regional settings: use it to update your own preferred language, time zone, date format, and time format. There are two places where you can set these settings:
    • Delve. Set your preferences here to define the time of the SharePoint calendars and ShortPoint Design Elements connected to them.
    • My Account Settings. Set your preferences here to define the time of the Outlook calendars and ShortPoint Design Elements connected to them.

Once modified, ShortPoint Design Elements, such as Events, will display according to your preferences.

Before we begin

  • SharePoint calendar connections are displayed according to the Delve settings. If you have not configured your personal settings in Delve (or have Always use regional settings defined by site administrators option enabled), then Events and Date Lists connected to SharePoint calendar will be displayed according to the Site Collection Regional Settings.
  • Outlook calendar connections are displayed according to the Account Settings. Outlook and Account Settings are synchronized, so you can set your date/time preferences wherever you like. Events and Date Lists connected to Outlook calendar will be displayed according to those settings.

Modifying SharePoint Site Regional Settings

Note: You need to have Site Collection Admin rights to modify the Site Collection Regional Settings.
