Before we begin
- Make sure you have SharePoint 2019 Environment.
- Make sure you have installed ShortPoint SPFx version 6.1.0.0.
- You want to establish upgrading to the latest version of ShortPoint SPFx.
Delete ShortPoint SPFx version 6.1.0.0 from the App Catalog
This is required due to some framework changes in SharePoint SPFx. You need to delete the old ShortPoint SPFx version 6.1.0.0 from the App catalog and add the new one. This won't be required again in the future updates.
You will not lose any data, and ShortPoint functionality will not be impacted. After deleting the app, you will not be able to add ShortPoint to any new site, but you will be able to do that after you upload the new version of ShortPoint SPFx.
Step 1: Check the existing ShortPoint app version
Before proceeding, it is important to check the current version of existing ShortPoint installed in SharePoint App Catalog.
NOTE: You should see that your ShortPoint SPFx app has the version 6.1.0.0.
Step 2: Delete ShortPoint SPFx 6.1.0.0
Click ShortPoint SPFx app with 6.1.0.0 version and delete the shortpoint-spfx.sppkg from your Apps for SharePoint list.
Step 3: Confirm deletion
To confirm deletion, click the OK button. This would send the recently deleted ShortPoint app to SharePoint recycle bin.
Now, you are ready to upgrade your ShortPoint version.
