- You want to control the feature activation of ShortPoint on your farm server.
Three Ways to Manage the Scope of ShortPoint Feature Activation
Listed below are the ways to manage ShortPoint's scope of activation. Follow the option best suited for your needs.
Option 1: Web Application Feature
This feature will activate ShortPoint on the web application level. This means that all site collections in this Web Application will have the ShortPoint Site Collection feature activated.
To activate, use your Windows search bar to look for the SharePoint Central Administration.
- For SharePoint 2013, search for SharePoint 2013 Central Administration.
- For SharePoint 2016, search for SharePoint 2016 Central Administration.
Under Application Management, click Manage web applications.
On the next page, click Manage Features.
Look for ShortPoint Foundation and click Activate.
Option 2. ShortPoint Site Collection Feature
This feature will activate ShortPoint on all existing and new sites of the current Site Collection.
To activate, go to the Site Collection where you want to use ShortPoint. Click the cogwheel button on the upper right corner of the screen.
From the dropdown, click Site Settings.
Under Site Collection Administration, click Site collection features.
On the Site collection features page, look for ShortPoint and click Activate.
Option 3: ShortPoint Site Feature
This feature allows you to activate ShortPoint on specific websites.
To activate, go to the site where you want to use ShortPoint. Click the cogwheel button on the upper right corner of the screen.
From the dropdown, click Site Settings.
Under Site Actions, click Manage Site Features.
On the Manage site features page, look for ShortPoint and click Activate.
Congratulations! You can now control the scope of ShortPoint Features activation.
