This article will demonstrate how you can use the People Search connection type, which allows you to display information about your SharePoint organization members on your SharePoint page.

Prerequisites
- You must have the latest version of ShortPoint SPFx installed on your SharePoint environment.
- You must be a ShortPoint Designer with an active license.
- You have set up the user profiles in SharePoint. Check these articles on how to do this:
- SharePoint Online (Office 365): Manage user profiles in the SharePoint admin center;
- SharePoint On-Premise (SharePoint 2013, SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint 2019): Administer the User Profile service in SharePoint Server.

NOTE: You can use any ShortPoint Design Element of your choice to establish the connection.
NOTE: People Search connection relies entirely on SharePoint People Search. Make sure that the selected fields for sorting are configured to support sorting. Check out Enabling sorting by field in SharePoint Search for more information.
Step-by-step Tutorial
Follow the steps below for a detailed run-through on how to use the People Search connection type:
Step 1: Edit the ShortPoint web part
- Go to the SharePoint page where you want to use the Current Site connection type and click Edit.
- Click the ShortPoint tag.
- Click the pencil icon.
Step 2: Switch to Grid Mode
- Click the Switch to Grid Mode icon.
NOTE: The ShortPoint Connect Feature is currently only available in Grid Mode.
Step 3: Edit the Design Element
- Look for the Design Element you want to use to connect and click the cogwheel icon.
NOTE: You can use any ShortPoint Design Element of your choice to establish the connection.
Step 4: Connect using the People Search connection type
- Go to the Connect tab.
- Click People Search.
- Choose the filter you would like to apply from the Apply the following filter drop-down.
- (Optional) You can toggle on the Enable Sorting option to display the properties in ascending or descending order.
- (Optional) You can also toggle on the Additional Properties to select other filter properties.
NOTE: People Search connection relies entirely on SharePoint People Search. Make sure that the selected fields for sorting are configured to support sorting. Check out Enabling sorting by field in SharePoint Search for more information.
- (Optional) If you need to limit the number of people shown, you can add a value to the Items Limit field.
- Then, click Connect to establish the connection.
Step 5: Map Items to display
- Go to the Items tab.
- Delete all default content.
- Click the link icon for each field and choose the property you would like to display from the drop-down.

HINT: If you'd like to map the Link with the Delve profile page, paste this URL to the Link field: https://eur.delve.office.com/?u=#AADObjectID&v=work.
Step 6: Update and Save
- Click Preview to see how the Design Element will look on your page.

- Once satisfied, click Update.
- Then, click the eye icon to see how your page will look in real-time.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Congratulations! You now know how to use the People Search connection type. You can now use this connection type on your SharePoint pages.
