We're excited to announce a major enhancement to ShortPoint's content management capabilities. With the ShortPoint SPFx version 8.7.0.0 update, four powerful new features are introduced to solve one of the most common challenges organizations face: helping users efficiently navigate and find information within large content collections.
Whether your employees are struggling to locate specific events in a lengthy calendar, getting overwhelmed by extensive news feeds, or experiencing slow page loads from massive SharePoint lists, these new optimization widgets transform chaotic content experiences into streamlined, user-friendly interactions that actually drive engagement.
Let us give you an overview of these new features:
Tabs Widget: Organize Long Content Lists
The Tabs widget solves the problem of overwhelming users with too much content at once. Instead of endless scrolling, users get clean, organized sections.
How it works: Automatically segments your content into clickable tabs based on any Design Element property (Title, Subtitle, Description, etc.).

For detailed setup instructions and advanced customization options, see our complete guide: How to Create Tabs in SharePoint Using the Tabs Widget.
Pagination Widget: Boost Performance for Large Lists
This widget is essential for maintaining fast page load times when working with extensive SharePoint lists.
How it works: Runs client-side in the user's browser, displaying only a limited number of items per page instead of loading everything at once.

Date Filter Widget: Precision Time-Based Filtering
Perfect for events, news, or any time-sensitive content where users need to find information from specific date ranges.
How it works: Filters content based on date properties from your events list.

Metadata Feature: The Foundation for Advanced Organization
While not a toolbar widget itself, Metadata is the powerful backbone that makes your Search & Filter tools even more effective.
How it works: Adds invisible "tags" to your content - additional contextual information that helps organize and categorize without cluttering the user interface.
Use case example: Tag events as "Meetings," "Webinars," or "HR Events" to enable sophisticated filtering and sorting.
Note: This feature is currently available for static (non-connected) ShortPoint Design Elements only.
In our example, we added "Priority" in the Metadata tab and specified the designated priority for each document in the list.

This allowed us to add a Tabs widget that sorts according to the set priority levels.

The real power comes from combining multiple widgets on a single Design Element to create sophisticated content management experiences. Activate multiple widgets and style them all together using the Settings button to adjust Widget Size, Theme Color, Spacing, and Color Mode.
These optimization tools represent a significant step forward in making SharePoint content truly user-friendly. Whether you're managing company news, event listings, or departmental resources, these widgets ensure your users can find what they need quickly and efficiently.
