Before we begin
This article is for you if you have the ShortPoint SPFx Visual Builder version 8.0.x.xx or later.
What is a Wireframe Builder?
Wireframe Builder is the original and exceptional editing interface used by ShortPoint Users worldwide. It is an outline-based interface where you add and modify Design Elements on your ShortPoint web part and see a basic structural view of its layout. We have made this interface intuitive and easy to use. It is the default editing interface you will see when you add or edit a ShortPoint web part.
What is New in Wireframe Builder?
New Colors for Design and Functionality
You are now greeted with a splash of vibrant colors when you enter the edit mode of your ShortPoint web part. Gone are the gray and blue hues that dominated the old ShortPoint wireframe design. These colors also identify the Design Element that was added onto the page in addition to the labels. They also correspond to the EasyPass colors you will see when you switch to the Visual Builder interface.
More Intuitive Insert Button
You will no longer see a ShortPoint menu where the insert button is located. You will now find a black insert button in spaces where you will be able to insert a Design Element. Pressing this button will launch the ShortPoint Page Builder wherever it is on your SharePoint page.
Also, if you are looking for the rich text editor that came with the ShortPoint menu, this is now accessible with the Text Design Element. Adding text directly within a Row, Column, or Panel is no longer supported. Insert a Text Design Element to add and modify text on your intranet page.
Context Menu Capability
In the updated Wireframe Builder, we enabled context menu options, which you can access by right-clicking on ShortPoint web part spaces. This allows you to select some editing actions in just a couple of clicks.
Floating Page Settings Accessibility
A Floating Page Settings Bar is now constantly within reach in the new Wireframe Builder. It contains several buttons, launching functions that help while you are editing your intranet page. Some of the most useful includes easily switching to Visual Builder interface, Copy and Paste web parts, Page Preview, and more.
To get more information about the individual functions of the Floating Page Settings Bar buttons, check out our support article on Visual Builder Feature: Floating Page Settings Bar.
More exciting features are slated to come for Wireframe Builder. We will continue to develop ShortPoint products to give you the best intranet page designing experience.
