If you would like to display the busy status of user on your page based on their Outlook calendar availability, this is the article where you may learn how to do it using the ShortPoint Events design element.

Prerequisites

  1. Please make sure you are using the ShortPoint version  6.9.x.x or higher
  2. You are on SharePoint Online/ SharePoint 2019
  3. This solution is based on the user's Outlook Calendar

Step 1: Add ShortPoint Events to the page


The Events Design Element can be easily added to your pages using ShortPoint Page Builder. 

  • Modern page:

You can start with adding a ShortPoint web part to your page by clicking the plus sign and selecting ShortPoint from the list of the web parts. 


  • Classic page:

1. Choose the Insert tab in the Ribbon.

2. Click the blue Insert button.



Then, select the Events Design Element from your ShortPoint Page Builder menu:  



Note: For this article, we are using Events design element inside Panel element. You can use any design element.



Step 2: Select connection type


Open the settings of Events element and navigate to Connect tab and select Shared Events (Outlook) connection type:


Step 3: Connect to user's email


In the Shared Account field, please insert the user's Outlook email and click on checkbox to agree that all events of this account will be shared by all site visitors. After you will do this, please click on Connect button.



Step 4: Map the items


In the Items tab pleas map the Start and End date, in the Title field type - Busy, other fields you can leave empty. 


That's all. Just don't forget to click Insert button.
