With the Shared Events (Outlook) connection type, you can showcase a specific user’s Outlook calendar events:
This is especially useful for your site viewers who need to see the schedule of a specific team member. This article will demonstrate how to use the Shared Events (Outlook) connection type to show a user's busy status based on their Outlook Calendar Events.

Prerequisites
- You must have the latest version of ShortPoint SPFx installed on your SharePoint page.
- You must be a ShortPoint Designer with an active license.
- You must already have an Events Design Element on your SharePoint page.
- You must have the email address of the team member whose Outlook Calendar events you want to display.

Follow the guide below for detailed steps on how to showcase a specific user’s Outlook calendar events:
Step 1: Edit the ShortPoint Web Part
- Go to the SharePoint page you want to use and click Edit:
- Close the Toolbar:
- Edit the ShortPoint web part:
Step 2: Switch to Grid Mode
NOTEShortPoint Connect is currently only available in Grid Mode.
- Click the Switch to Grid Mode icon:
Step 3: Edit the Events Design Element
NOTEBefore proceeding, make sure you already have an Events Design Element on your SharePoint page.
- Hover over the Events Design Element and click the cogwheel icon:
Step 4: Connect to Shared Events (Outlook)
NOTEBefore proceeding, you must already have the email address of the team member whose Outlook Calendar events you want to display.
- Go to the Connect tab.
- Select Shared Events (Outlook).
- Write the email address of the team member whose Outlook Calendar events you want to display.
- Specify the number of days/months/years you want to be shown in the Show Events in the Upcoming field.
- Click Connect.
Step 5: Map Items
- Delete all default content.
- In the title field, write “Busy:”. This will signify the busy status of the selected user.
- Then, use the link icon to specify the properties you want to be shown.
- You can map any item you want. In our example, though, we will showcase the following:
[1] #Title in the Title field - displays the titles of the events in the Outlook Calendar.
[2] #EventDate in the Start Date field - displays the start date and time of the events in the Outlook Calendar.
[3] #EndDate in the End Date field - displays the end date and time of the events in the Outlook Calendar.
- Click Preview to see how your events will look.
- Once satisfied, click Update.
Step 6: Save
- Click the eye icon to see your page in real-time:
- Save your changes:
