Issue

You received the license key from ShortPoint and tried to activate the license key on ShortPoint License manager in SharePoint Central Administration. Then you got this error:

ShortPoint License activation failed, showing up the following error:

ActivationFailed: Unable to connect to the remote server. EvaluationDataLoadSaveFailed: Access to the registry key 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\{d4829d21-9136-7196-0d8b-2537b37907ee6}\InProcServer32' is denied.

Reason

You are logged in to central administration with a user that does not have the required permissions.

Solution

The user you are logged in with to Central Administration should be Farm administrator and local server Administrators group account. Then try again!
