Before we begin
This article explains how to hide the SharePoint Current Navigation (see the image below) on three different levels:
- Hide Current Navigation on all site pages, on all devices.
- Hide Current Navigation only on the site home page.
- Hide Current Navigation only on mobile devices.
If you are interested in hiding side menu from one specific page only, please check this solution.
We will be hiding the side menu, which is highlighted below:
Part 1: Hide SharePoint & Office 365 Current Navigation on all site pages
1. Open ShortPoint Theme Builder: Site Contents/Site Settings > ShortPoint Dashboard > Theme Builder and click Customize my site.
2. Go to General Settings > Elements > All Sites and turn on the Hide Side Menu option.
3. Click Publish.
Part 2: Hide SharePoint & Office 365 Current Navigation on Home Page only
1. Open ShortPoint Theme Builder: Site Contents/Site Settings > ShortPoint Dashboard > Theme Builder and click Customize my site.
2. Go to General Settings > Elements > Home Page and turn on the Hide Side Menu option.
3. Click Publish.
Part 3: Hide SharePoint & Office 365 Current Navigation on Mobile Devices
1. Open ShortPoint Theme Builder: Site Contents/Site Settings > ShortPoint Dashboard > Theme Builder and click Customize my site.
2. Go to Mobile Settings > Mobile Elements and turn on the Hide Side Menu option.
3. Click Publish.
Note: You don't have to pick one of those three different levels to hide your Side Menu. For example, you can combine both Part 2 and Part 3 to have the Side Menu be hidden on both the Site Home Page and on mobile devices.
Result
SharePoint Current Navigation that used to occupy the side area of the site, is no longer displayed. Happy Customization!
