Interactive Tutorial

Step-by-step Tutorial
There are three ways to add images using SharePoint web parts. Follow the option that best suits your needs:
Option 1: Using the Document Library Web Part
This web part is the best option if you want to have the ability to readily upload new images to your Document Library.
Step 1: Add the Document Library web part
- Go to the SharePoint page you want to use and click Edit.
- Select the gray plus icon.
- Use the search bar to look for Document Library and click it.
Step 2: Choose the Document Library
- Find the Document Library you want to display and click it.
Step 3: Customize the Display Style
- Select All Documents:
- Choose Tiles from the drop-down.
NOTEYou can also directly upload images to your Document Library using this web part. Simply click Upload:
Step 4: Publish / Republish
- Once you are satisfied with your edits, click Publish / Republish.
Option 2: Using the Image Web Part
This web part is the best option if you want to upload a single image to your page.
Step 1: Add the Image web part
- Go to the SharePoint page you want to use and click Edit.
- Select the gray plus icon.
- Use the search bar to look for Image and click it.
Step 2: Insert Image
- Select the image you want to use or upload it.
- Click Add Image.
Step 3: (Optional) Customize the Image
- Customize the image according to your preference. Below are the settings you can modify:
Text Overlay | allows you to add a description over the image. You can write up to 48 characters. | |
Resize | allows you to customize the size of the image. | |
Crop & Aspect Ratios | allows you to crop the image. | |
Align center | allows you to change the alignment of the image. | |
Advanced Editing | allows you to further edit the image. |
Step 4: Publish / Republish
- Once you are satisfied with your edits, click Publish / Republish.
Option 3: Using the Image Gallery Web Part
This web part is the best option if you want to upload multiple images to your page.
Step 1: Add the Image web part
- Go to the SharePoint page you want to use and click Edit.
- Select the gray plus icon.
- Use the search bar to look for Image Gallery and click it.
Step 2: Add Images
- Click Add Images.
- Select all the images you want to display.
- Click Insert.
NOTEYou can also connect the Image Gallery web part to a Document Library. Simply select [1] Dynamically display images from a library, find the name of your [2] Document Library, and modify the [3] Maximum number of images to display.
Step 3: Select Layout
- Choose the Layout you prefer. You can choose from:

- Click the cross icon.
- Add a title to your Image Gallery.
Step 4: Publish / Republish
- Once you are satisfied with your edits, click Publish / Republish.
