This article will demonstrate how to create and set up anchor links in SharePoint to help your users better navigate the page.

Prerequisites
- You must have the latest version of ShortPoint SPFx installed on your SharePoint page.
- You must be a ShortPoint Designer with an active license.
- You must have separate Sections in your SharePoint page. To learn how to create a Section, check out Add sections and columns on a SharePoint modern page.
Step-by-step Tutorial
The steps have been divided into two parts. Follow the steps closely to learn how to create and set up anchor links in SharePoint.
Part 1: Create Anchor Links
Part 1 will show you how to create the anchor links.
Step 1: Edit the page
Go to the SharePoint page you want to use and click Edit:
Close the Toolbox:
Step 2: Assign Headings
NOTEBefore proceeding, make sure you have separate Sections in your SharePoint page. To learn how to create a Section, check out Add sections and columns on a SharePoint modern page.
Hover over the top of your SharePoint Section and select the gray plus icon:
Use the search bar to look for Text and select it:
Name your SharePoint Section and assign it as a Heading:
Repeat the same steps for the other Sections on your page:
Step 3: Publish
Publish your page:
Step 4: Copy the Anchor Links
Hover over the Heading you created in Step 2 and select the link icon:
You will notice that your SharePoint URL has changed. This URL will serve as your anchor link. Copy it:
NOTEMake sure to take note of the URL you copied. You will need it for part 2.
Repeat the same steps for the other Sections on your page:
Part 2: Set Up Anchor Links
Part 2 will tackle setting up the anchor links you created in Part 1.
Step 1: Edit the Page
Click Edit:
Close the Toolbox:
Step 2: Add the ShortPoint Web Part
Hover over the top of the first Section and click the gray plus icon:
Use the search bar to look for ShortPoint and select it:
Select the choose layout icon:
Choose the layout you prefer. For this guide, we will use the single layout:
Step 3: Insert Design Element
Click the pink plus icon to open the library of Design Elements:
Select the Design Element you want to use. For this guide, we will use Tiles:
NOTEYou can use any Design Element as long as it allows multiple items and has a field for Links. Examples of such Design Elements are Simple Lists, Icon Lists, Tiles, etc.
Step 4: Paste Anchor Links
Click the cogwheel icon of the first item:
Add a Title and/or Description. For this guide, we will use the name of our Section as the Title and leave the Description blank:
Paste the Anchor Link you copied in Part 1 in the Link field:
(Optional) Add an icon and a background image:
Click the back icon:
Repeat the same steps for the other items:
NOTEIf you have more than 3 Sections, simply click Add New to add an item and repeat the steps above.
Step 5: Customize the Design Element
Switch to the Design tab:
Customize the Design Element according to your preferences:
Once satisfied, apply your changes:
Step 6: Save
Click the eye icon to see your page in real-time:
Once satisfied, click Save:
Publish your page:
Amazing! You now have anchor links in your SharePoint page:
