Copy Themes from ShortPoint Demos Website

ShortPoint Theme Builder allows you to create unlimited SharePoint themes and design your site pages to go beyond what is offered with the out-of-the-box intranet solutions. If you do not want to start building from scratch, you can take any of our ShortPoint themes free templates and apply them to your SharePoint intranet portal.

Let us show you how you can import the intranet templates using ShortPoint Theme Builder. Here is an example of an intranet design from our demos library:

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Prerequisites:

  • You need to have ShortPoint installed or upgraded to ShortPoint SPFx version 7.0.2.xx or later on Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint Online) or SharePoint 2019 environment.
  • For SharePoint 2013 and 2016 (On-Premise) environments, please ensure you have the latest public release from the download page of our official website.
  • You also need to be a ShortPoint User with an active license.

How to copy and paste ShortPoint themes templates

On our Demos website, you can copy and paste a whole site template, a section of it, or a web part that you want to use for your SharePoint Teams site or Communication site. However, you cannot copy the theme used for it.

If you want to copy any of the themes from our demos website and paste them into your SharePoint site (Office 365, SharePoint 2013, and SharePoint 2016 on-premises), you will need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Open ShortPoint Dashboard

Our Classic and Modern Theme Builder can be accessed through the ShortPoint Dashboard.

  • If you are using SharePoint 2013 or 2016 on-premise, go to Site Settings > ShortPoint Dashboard.

  • If you are using Office 365 or SharePoint 2019 on-premise, go to Site Contents and then click ShortPoint Dashboard.

Step 2: Start ShortPoint Theme Builder

Press Theme Builder from the ShortPoint Dashboard menu:

You will have the option to launch Theme Builder for site pages with Classic or Modern experience. Choose the appropriate selection.

Now you need to customize your site. Select Customize my site button to proceed.

Note: For Microsoft SharePoint 2013 and 2016 (on-premise) environments that only have Classic pages, you will not have the option to choose Modern experience. Go straight to pressing the Customize my site button.

You will be brought to your SharePoint site’s home page with the ShortPoint Theme Builder window in front of it.

Step 3: Locate Import Theme

You now have to navigate to the import and export theme functionality in the Theme Builder.

Select Utilities > Import/Export:

Step 4: Copy the code of the theme you want to import to your site

Listed below are the different free SharePoint templates as seen in the Themes section of our demos library. They are applicable for both Classic and Modern SharePoint pages.

Click the code link of the theme template that you wish to use below, copy the code and proceed to the next step.

Note: These codes include Theme Builder customizations as seen on our demos site except for color palette and theme colors configuration. You will have to modify the color palette manually. Check out our article on SharePoint Branding: How to Do It Using ShortPoint Theme Builder to know more.
Also, if you copied any of the SharePoint page templates from our demos library and would like to have the same theme for it, you can request the Theme Builder customization code from our help desk by submitting a support ticket.

Step 5: Paste the code in the Import field

Paste your copied code on the Import field provided and press Apply to complete. You can now preview how the new theme template looks like with your content on your landing page.

You can also continue to make further adjustments within ShortPoint Theme Builder to fit the web design you want to achieve.

NoteYou may receive warnings indicating ShortPoint version and SharePoint environment differences. This does not adversely affect how the theme template will be applied to your site. You can ignore them.

Step 6: Click Publish

Your new site design will not be viewed by your end-users until you hit the Publish button. Commit the changes by publishing them to your site only when you are happy with your final output:

That is all! This is the easiest way to apply a new theme design to your SharePoint site.
