By default, when you have a connected SharePoint List, the oldest item is displayed at the top, while the newest item is displayed at the bottom.
Follow the steps in this tutorial to learn how to reorder the list to showcase the most recent item at the top.

Prerequisites
- You must have the latest version of ShortPoint SPFx installed on your SharePoint environment.
- You must be a ShortPoint Designer with an active license.
- You must already have a Design Element connected to a SharePoint List.

Follow the steps to learn how to see the newest items at the top:
Step 1: Edit the ShortPoint Web Part
- Go to the SharePoint page you want to use and click Edit:
- Close the Toolbox:
- Click the Edit properties icon:
Step 2: Switch to Grid Mode
NOTECurrently, ShortPoint Connect is only available in Grid Mode.
- Click the Switch to Grid Mode icon:
Step 3: Edit the Connected Design Element
NOTEYou must already have a Design Element connected to a SharePoint List. To ensure that a Design Element is connected, look for a link icon inside it, just as we have in this Image List.
- Click the cogwheel icon of the connected Design Element. For this guide, we’ll use this Image List:
Step 4: Go to the SharePoint List View
- Go to the Connected tab.
- Select the view link of the connected SharePoint List. This is the line after the last slash:
- You will then be redirected to the SharePoint List:
Step 5: Show items in Descending Order
- Click the [1] View drop-down and select [2] Edit current view:
- Scroll down until you see the Sort section. Make sure that you have the following options set up:
[1] Modified
[2] Show items in descending order
- Select OK:
Step 6: Reconnect
- Go back to the SharePoint page and click Update.
- Click the cogwheel icon of the connected Design Element again.
- Then, go to the Connected tab.
- Select Reconnect:
- Click Update again.
Step 7: Save
- Click the eye icon to see your page in real-time:
- Save your changes:
You're all set! The newest item on your list now appears at the top.
