How to Embed an X Feed into a SharePoint Site

This article will demonstrate how to embed your X  feed to your SharePoint site. You can follow the quick walkthrough if you already know how to use the ShortPoint Code Editor. Otherwise, you can follow our detailed guide on how to accomplish this.

Prerequisite

  • You must already have the ShortPoint Code Web Part installed on your SharePoint page. To learn how to do this, check out How to Install ShortPoint Code Editor in SharePoint.
  • You must be logged in to X to see the X feed on your SharePoint page. Otherwise, you will see the ‘Nothing to See Here’ error.

Quick Walkthrough

1. Go to the X feed you want to embed and copy the profile link. 

2. Open X publish, paste the copied link, and customize how you want the X feed to look. Once satisfied with your edits, click Copy Code.

3. Go to your SharePoint page and add the ShortPoint Code Web Part.

4. Click the Edit Properties icon of the ShortPoint Code to edit it.

5. Delete all default codes.

6. Paste the copied code in the HTML field, customize it to your needs, and click Save.

7. Close the ShortPoint Code window.

8. Republish the page.


Step-by-step Tutorial

Follow the detailed instructions to add an X feed to your SharePoint page:



NOTEBefore proceeding, make sure you are logged in to your X account. Otherwise, you will not be able to see the X feed on your SharePoint page. Instead, you may see a ‘Nothing to See Here’ error.


  • Go to the X feed you want to add and click the ellipsis icon:

  • Select Copy link to profile:

Step 2: Copy the Embed Code

  • Open X publish, paste the copied link in the field provided, and press Enter:

  • Select Embedded Timeline:

  • Click set customization options if you want to modify the look of the embedded X feed:

  • Customize it according to your needs and click Update:

  • Click Copy Code:

Step 2: Add the ShortPoint Code Web Part

  • Go to the SharePoint page where you want to add the X feed and click Edit:

  • Click the close icon to leave the Toolbox:

  • Select the plus icon to add a web part:

  • Use the search bar to look for ShortPoint Code, or scroll down until you see the Advanced section. Click ShortPoint Code:

Step 3: Edit the ShortPoint Code Web Part

  • Click the Edit Properties icon:

Step 4: Delete Default codes

  • Select each field, delete the default codes inside, and click Save:

Step 5: Paste the Code

  • Click the Edit HTML field:

  • You can directly edit the code in the ShortPoint Code Editor. Customize the code according to your needs and click Save:

Step 6: Republish Page

  • Once satisfied, click the close icon to leave the ShortPoint Code Editor:

  • Click Republish once you’re ready to make your changes live:
