What’s the difference between the free and paid versions of the Widget?
The free version of ShortPoint Accessibility provides partial compliance via user-triggered accessibility enhancements while the paid version also remediates the underlying code to work with assistive technology, in accordance with WCAG guidelines.
In other words, your site isn’t compliant with WCAG guidelines if you don’t have an active AI accessibility widget subscription. Check out our support article on the Differences Between the Free and Paid Accessibility Widgets.
Will adding ShortPoint Accessibility to my intranet site affect its loading time?
The ShortPoint Accessibility widget by UserWay has been rigorously tested and optimized to ensure there is no impact on your intranet’s load time. Both the widget and remediations to your site’s code are done asynchronously after your site has finished loading.
If I make any changes to the intranet site after installing ShortPoint Accessibility, will those changes be remediated by the widget?
Definitely! The ShortPoint Accessibility widget automatically identifies any changes to your site. If violations appear in newly-published content, those will be immediately remediated by the widget. You can freely publish new content without having to worry about needing to make modifications.
Does ShortPoint Accessibility collect any personally identifiable information (PII)?
ShortPoint Accessibility does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) or behavioral data on your intranet site or its users as we fully comply with privacy policy standards globally. For more information, please check ShortPoint’s and our partner UserWay’s privacy policies.
What are some limitations of the widget to keep in mind?
• The accessibility widget is not supported on IE11 (all modern browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox are supported).
• The accessibility tool doesn't support edit mode. For example, Some issues might show up if you enable light contrast from the widget and start editing ShortPoint/SharePoint webparts.
• We recommend disabling the accessibility user enhancements (larger font, light contrast, etc.) from the widget before working on page design, this is to see the final page as everyone else would see it.
