This is the first step to installing ShortPoint for Microsoft Teams. Follow the steps below to get started.

Before We Begin
- This article will guide you on how to install ShortPoint to Microsoft Teams for the first time.
- Before you proceed, you must have the required permissions. You need to be an Office 365 Global Admin to set up the App Catalog and add an app to your Teams app catalog.
Note: ShortPoint for Teams is not available for GCC and GCC High Tenants. More information can be found in this article.
Step-by-Step Tutorial
Step 1: Sign in to Office.com with your Global admin account
From your side panel, select Admin.
Click the ellipsis button to show all admin content.
Scroll down until you see Admin centers in the side panel. Click SharePoint.
Step 2: Open the SharePoint App Catalog
Once you are in the SharePoint admin center, click More features.
From the More features page, look for Apps and click Open. This will take you to the App Catalog page.
If you have created an App Catalog before, you will see this.
Otherwise, SharePoint will take a few minutes to create a new App Catalog for you.
Note: Since May 2022, Microsoft has automated App Catalog creation in Office 365. If for any reason, you see the old experience in your tenant suggesting manual App Catalog set-up, check this article: Set Up the Tenant App Catalog in Office 365.
After it is done, you will see this. Click Got it.
Step 3: Download the latest version of the ShortPoint App for Teams
Download the latest version of the SharePoint App for Microsoft Teams
Extract the file ShortPoint-Teams_XXXX.zip
After extracting, you will find the following files: shortpoint-spfx-teams.sppkg & teams.zip. Proceed to step 4 and upload shortpoint-spfx-teams.sppkg as described.
Step 4: Upload ShortPoint for Teams to App Catalog
On the App catalog, click the upload button.
From your files, find the extracted ShortPoint Teams folder and select the shortpoint-spfx-teams.sppkg file, then press Open.
You will then get a prompt asking if you want to enable ShortPoint for Teams. Click Enable app.
A notification stating that the app has been enabled will appear. Click Close.
I cannot add the new package to App Catalog!
If the step is not completed successfully or if you have encountered a problem adding the package to the App Catalog, check this article to fix the issue: I Can Not Upload ShortPoint App to SharePoint App Catalog.
You must also ensure that your ShortPoint SPFx for Teams is enabled successfully. To do so, check the State column under ShortPoint SPFx for Teams. If you see enabled, it has been added successfully.
