Before we start:

Footer feature is available in ShortPoint versions and above, So make sure you have the latest version of ShortPoint installed on your site ( you can check our latest version number on our roadmap page, and you can download the latest version from our download page )

In this article, we will show you how to create a simple footer using ShortPoint and apply it to your SharePoint/Office 365 site, so let us start!

Step 1:

Go to ShortPoint Generator page ( Site Settings > ShortPoint Dashboard > ShortPoint Generator )

Step 2:

Give your Footer element a Name, and change the Type of the newly created element into Footer

Note: Generated ShortPoints of Type Element, cannot be applied on the site as a Footer.

Note: Using Placeholders ( %%attribute%% ) are limited to Generated ShortPoints of Type "Element", placeholders, when added to Generated ShortPoints of type "Footer", will not have any special behavior and will be rendered in the Footer as-is.

Step 3:

Design the Footer content

You will notice that once you have changed the Type drop-down menu item into Footer, automatically a section has been inserted into the Generator HTML Editor, and that's because Footer feature works best with section items.

For the purpose of this article, I am going to paste some social icons from our Icons Demo page ( I will change each icon color to white, and update the section Horizontal alignment to center ), but feel free to design whatever you like for your footer.

Step 4:

Save your Changes

NEXT: Add the Footer to SharePoint
