ShortPoint Farm Solutions are now Javascript from bottom to top

We have changed and enhanced ShortPoint farm solutions for SharePoint 2010, 2013 and 2016 on-premise. We want to be aligned with Microsoft plans for SharePoint, and provide better solutions. We have replaced the ShortPoint engine for on-premise with our Javascript engine. So now, ShortPoint farm solutions are 100% Javascript. 

• Better page rendering and loading
• Better performance on web servers
• ShortPoint has zero server side code or programs
• Everything happens on the browser
  
• No conflicts anymore with any other SharePoint solution in the market
  
• Lighter installation and upgrade
  
• You can activate ShortPoint on any scope: Subsite, Site, Site Collection and Web Application levels.

How will this affect you?

None of your work will be affected at all. But there is one thing we tried to avoid, but it is impossible. You will have to edit and save all the pages that have ShortPoints after installing the new release, to make them use the new Javascript engine. Otherwise, they will not be visible on the page. You have to do this once only, and you do not have to do it ever again.

Why have you to do this?

We replaced our server side engine with a client-side engine. For the client-side engine to work, it has to be kickoff at least once on the pages that have ShortPoint inserted using the old engine. This will not happen if you are creating new pages after installing the new version, only on the old pages where you have ShortPoints already added and saved using the old server-side engine.
